A tamped concrete finish is created by moving a tamping beam up and down quickly along the surface of a concrete floor in the same direction before it cures to make it stronger. This technique creates noticeable horizontal grooves in the floor which can improve grip - this is especially suited to outdoor areas exposed to the elements and heavy traffic - farmyards, car parks and loading bays for example.
